With over fifteen years’ experience in property styling and interior design and styling, Catherine Heraghty is the owner and Creative Director of The Stables. Her passion for design and styling is evident as she breathes life into every project with smart and simplistic styling solutions. She creates spaces that have a sense of light and warmth, and places importance on lasting interiors that will become part of her client's story at home.
Known for her soft and muted colour palette, Catherine focuses on clean lines and natural light. She seamlessly adapts to many styles to assist her clients reaching their design goals, but her love of classic, modern Australian and coastal styling is evident in her extensive portfolio. Proving neutrals to be anything but boring, she makes the most of natural materials by layering texture and patterns to add depth and warmth to each and every room.
For Catherine, The Stables is about blurring the lines between work and life. She has created the type of lifestyle she desires, she is able to satisfy her creativity and also her love for spending time with her family. Never overlooking smaller details, Catherine works closely with her clients to create beautiful, timeless spaces. What’s her most exciting part of each project? “Seeing it all come together. I love when I’ve created a space that feels calm and serene. It’s so satisfying when my clients see the finished product and they just fall in love, and I see how it transforms their life and the way they live at home. I love seeing how happy it can make my clients, that’s the most important part.”
Tess Alati
Designer
As designer for the Stables, Tess brings to the team a passion for spatial planning and residential design & documentation. Since graduating from Billy Blue College with a Bachelor of Interior Design, Tess has enjoyed working on a wide range of high-end projects from large renovations to boutique kitchens. Her strong work ethic and drive to deliver the best results, sees her always go the extra mile to create perfect spaces for The Stable’s clients. Tess loves the transformation that interiors can bring to a client’s life and this makes her role as designer so fulfilling.
Lucy Nairn-Smith

With over ten years’ experience in the property and interior styling industry, Lucy is a strong asset to The Stables team. As a Senior Interior Stylist there is nothing she enjoys more than curating homes through soft muted tones, tactile elements and a sense of lightness. Lucy’s personal aesthetic seamlessly blends with The Stables simple and timeless interiors. With her pragmatic approach, Lucy has a strong sense of satisfaction and personal fulfilment when it comes to delivering our clients wants and needs.
Sarah Monaghan

Sarah delights in seeing our clients reactions to their new environments. A diverse background in business, marketing, commercial interior design and event styling has taught her the importance of understanding our clients needs as well as the organisational rigour to complete projects within budget and on time. Sarah’s aesthetic is organic and earthy, she loves to use soft curves and texture to create harmonious spaces and lives to curate beauty and a sense of calm both personally and professionally.

Sarah joined The Stables as an Interior Stylist with a diverse creative background in property styling and visual merchandising. With over eight years of experience in the industry, she brings an exceptional spatial awareness to all of her projects and her warm and personable approach to the whole styling journey makes for a really enjoyable process for all of our clients. Growing up near the coast has ingrained a lifetime love of calming, coastal aesthetics that works seamlessly with the Stables signature style.

Having escaped the corporate world and graduated from Sydney Design School Anna is a valued addition to The Stables team in a remote capacity. As an Interior Stylist Anna’s personal aesthetic is light, simple and timeless with a strong focus on layers and textural elements. This personal aesthetic blends seamlessly with The Stables and ensures consistency throughout the team. There is nothing Anna loves more than being involved in the design process from start to finish, seeing the clients world transform through their home.
Catherine and her team are a kinship of creative minds, with an innate understanding of each other and their ability to create atmosphere. After all home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling.
